Autumn's Baby Blessing
Autumn's baby blessing followed about a month after she was born. I loved how her blessing day was in the month of December. The holidays fall in December which brings family together. Plus, Christmastime is the best time of year!
Collin's parents got in town a week after Thanksgiving. They came all the way from California to be here for Autumn's special day. Collin's sister Jocelyne and her daughter Lila also came. They flew from Colorado on a girls' trip together. Everyone was excited to meet our precious baby. Autumn loved bonding with her grandma and grandpa Wheeler, (Amma and Papa), Aunt Joce, and Cousin Lila. We missed my family at the baby blessing, but know that they were there in spirit.
The weekend of Autumn's blessing was mostly family time. We got to play games, go out to eat, watch a town parade, and make Christmas cookies. We taught his family how to play Codenames and Dominion. We love both of those games. Collin also made fried chicken he recently learned how to make. It was so delicious!
On December 3rd, Autumn was blessed. It's a day that we will never forget. We went to church and Collin blessed her during Sacrament Meeting. It was a beautiful blessing. One thing that stuck out to me was when he blessed her with comfort from the Holy Ghost during life's trials. I didn't grow up in the church, but now Autumn has this opportunity to do so. I know that the Holy Ghost will help protect her throughout her entire life.
She was asleep throughout the entire blessing, but I know that she will come to know Heavenly Father's love for her. I already know that Autumn is a special girl.
