Two Sweet for Two Years
We officially have a two-year-old! How did that happen?? I wish time would just stand still. My little baby keeps getting bigger everyday. There was so much to celebrate for Autumn's second birthday.
Things always get so busy on Autumn's birthday. Since her birthday is the day after Halloween, there are so many activities happening around that time. Not to mention the extra treats.
This year, Autumn got the ultimate treat. To go along with her Sesame Street party theme, Collin and I made her a Cookie Monster cake. I have to give Collin the credit since he made most of the cake. He put together a two-layer cake with an actual giant cookie in the middle. Topped with frosting that turned your mouth blue. It was a triumph! Not only did it look amazing, but the taste was undeniable. Autumn couldn't get enough of her cake.
We had a few friends from our new ward come over for Autumn's party. Even though we didn't have any games, I feel like the party was a success. The kids had fun just playing around our apartment and being silly. We could tell Autumn was enjoying herself. I'm glad we have so many people in our ward with small children. We have found a lot of kids close to Autumn's age.
Autumn continues to amaze us everyday. Her vocabulary is incredible. She catches on very quick to new words and sentences. I don't know where they come from half the time. She has gotten so fast! When we play outside, I try to keep up. This girl loves reading. She loves it when we put a blanket on top of us as we read to her. She calls it a "secret fort." She can name the different shapes, colors, animals, food, and objects. I've heard her count to ten and she knows most of her ABC's. Whenever I hear her sing or say, "I love you" it's the sweetest thing ever. She isn't potty trained yet, but we have been getting her familiar with the potty. I know children will go when they're ready.
I'm still trying to understand why they call this age the "terrible two's." It's such a fun age! Although I have seen moments with Autumn where she will throw tantrums in public places. Luckily, that happens very rarely. She is overall a very sweet, mellow child.
As time goes on, I understand why they say, "don't blink." Two years went by so fast. It was only yesterday Autumn was a squishy newborn. Now my baby is no longer a baby. She has been such a blessing to our family. We are so proud with how much she has grown. I can't wait to see what the next few years will bring for our Auterpop!

She's Two!!!
Cheesin.' I love her smile.
Admiring the goodies for Autumn's birthday party.
The center of it all. Collin made most of the cake. I put together the googly eyes and mouth. We used two bottles of blue food coloring to make it look like Cookie Monster. I was happy all the hard work paid off.
Celebrating a very special girl.
She was HILARIOUS when we sang happy birthday to her. She giggled and blew kisses at everyone who sang to her. When it came to blowing out her candle, all she wanted to do was touch it. So Mommy blew it out. She loves to make us laugh.
She loves her cake. My little sweet tooth, just like mommy.
My little smurf. I'd say that the cake was a hit.
She wore her outfit from Grandma Carter. It was perfect for her party.
Playing with her friends in the ball/balloon pit.
Opening her presents
She received so many nice gifts from her family and friends

Just a girl in her happy place
Spent the day in Boston. Even in the city, you find such beautiful fall trees.
The Boston Public Gardens is a dream! Especially when it starts bursting with color.
I love her curiosity
In front of the Washington statue
I am in love with New England fall. It is just breathtaking!
Can you tell what my favorite season is?
Dressing up for our ward Trunk or Treat. We dressed up as the characters from the Netflix TV show "Stranger Things" for Halloween this year. Autumn was Eleven, Collin was Chief Hopper, and I was Joyce Byers.
Our trunk was "Holly Jolly," am I right?
Eleven wanted to share her Eggo waffles with Joyce.
Trying to find Will Byers
We went to Boston for Collin's Halloween party at work. Which means more trick or treating for Autumn.
