Third Trimester Pregnancy Update

You heard right folks! I am officially full term and coming down towards the tail end of this pregnancy. Boy what a ride it has been. They are right when they say your pregnancy goes by faster the more kids you have. Autumn keeps me busy everyday so that's probably why.

In the beginning of the this trimester, I took a glucose test to see if I had gestational diabetes. With Autumn, I didn't pass the 1 hour test, but passed the 3 hour test. This time around, I passed the 1 hour test! I was so happy I passed, because I didn't need anymore health issues with this pregnancy.

We should have all the necessities that we need for a baby. The nursery is mostly put together. Autumn and the baby will share a room. A half the room will be girl decor and the other half will be boy decor. We also got a new bed for Autumn. The baby will use her old crib. We just got our double stroller and car seat is installed. We also have a bunch of baby stuff that we will reuse. Lastly, I'd say the hospital bag is mostly packed.

My pregnancy cravings have continued to change. Nowadays, I crave sushi, french fries, potato chips, and fall treats since fall is coming! I'm not as averted to food, but I am still sensitive to smells. Sometimes it can make me sick. If I go out and about, I've noticed that's when I feel so much better.

Did I mention pregnancy brain is a real thing? I cannot tell how many times I have had forgetful moments. I would even put things in the wrong place. My pregnancy dreams feel very real and never make any sense.

Pregnancy exhaustion is a real thing. When you have been carrying a human for 9 months, it can take a lot out of you. I am tired almost everyday. I find myself falling asleep if I am on the couch. Sometimes it can be hard to keep up with Autumn. She helps keep my energy going. By the end of the day, I just lay on my bed and crash.

This baby continues to move a ton in my belly! I'd say by far, he is more active than Autumn was. (That's a boy for you.) He is always kicking/sliding his feet around my belly. At times he kicks very hard when I least expect it. He moves to a point where he squeezes my bladder and pelvic area.

I have definitely felt more uncomfortable and, not to mention, huge! Lately it has been hard to get comfortable while sleeping, sitting, or lying down because of how big my belly is. The baby is laying low. It's like I said earlier, I have felt some pressure in my lower body. I have felt Braxton Hicks contractions, but not the real thing yet.

My doctors said that I am starting to dilate which is a good sign. It's only a matter of time before I go into labor. I just more than anything that all goes smoothly. I was in labor for 17 hours with Autumn and she was 6 days late! I've heard the 2nd child comes a lot quicker so there's hope. My mom comes in town at the end of September so I'm hoping he holds out until than.

As far as the DVT goes, my leg has been doing great. It's pretty much back to normal, but I still have to be on blood thinners to make sure it doesn't spread. They switched my medication to a different blood thinner so it can make things easier for delivery. I would have to see a hematologist to check up on me after I deliver the baby. To top it off, I still have to be on blood thinners until 6 weeks after having the baby. I just hope to hear good news from the hematologist.

We are blown away with how fast this pregnancy has gone by. I am just ready to be done and meet our sweet baby boy. I know everything I went through with this pregnancy will make it all worth it to bring him into the world. I cannot wait to see his cute face and get some newborn cuddles. Going from 1 to 2 will be an adjustment, but we can't wait to expand. We look forward to seeing Autumn meet her baby brother. She will be the sweetest big sister. My heart is just so full. I look forward to having another little blessing come into our family.
